Richmond University Medical Center – SUNY Affiliate: Dr. Galiboglu’s first year of training was primarily focused on Neurology and hospital-based inpatient Medicine, where he treated patients with a wide range of medical conditions. He gained substantial experience managing complex neurological disorders, including strokes, seizures, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, rare autoimmune neurological diseases, and other neurodegenerative disorders. The remaining several years of his training were dedicated to advanced psychiatric care, notability the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), a unique program that exceeds general psychiatry residency requirements. Over three years at this esteemed institution, he immersed himself in this specialized training program, spending the majority of his time managing acute psychiatric crises. His CPEP involvement included weekly 24-hour call shifts, where he led a collaborative team and worked closely with mobile crisis units, the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, and first responders such as the New York City Police Department and Emergency Services Unit. This focused experience provided Dr. Galiboglu with invaluable skills in triaging, managing, and treating severe mental health disorders under high-pressure conditions, significantly enhancing his ability to handle complex psychiatric cases.
Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell-SIUH: Dr. Galiboglu completed his residency at this prestigious institution, where he advanced his expertise in complex psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. His training at Hofstra/Northwell-SIUH was particularly focused on outpatient care, which allowed him to develop comprehensive treatment plans that addressed both the biological and psychological aspects of mental health disorders. As an outpatient team leader, Dr. Galiboglu played a pivotal role in coordinating care and ensuring effective communication among healthcare providers, emphasizing a collaborative approach to patient management. He specialized in various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and supportive therapy. Her training included rotations in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), providing acute care for patients in crisis. She also gained expertise in short and long-term inpatient psychiatric care, along with patients in the dual diagnosis outpatient clinic and the Partial Hospitalization Program. Additionally, Dr. Ojo expanded her knowledge in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, collaborating with healthcare professionals in the Pediatric, OBGYN, Cardiac, Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Room, and Neurology departments.
Subspecialty Training in Psychosomatic Medicine/Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry: Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan, equipping her with advanced skills in understanding the complex interaction between physical and mental health. During her fellowship, Dr. Ojo worked closely with the Oncology department, the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery, and Palliative Care/Hospice, gaining invaluable experience in addressing the unique mental health needs of these patient populations. This training further allowed her to refine her approach to delivering comprehensive, patient-focused psychiatric care.
